You need to get a copy of your credit report to look for entries that could be damaging your credit. Look for items like:
- chargeoffs
- bankruptcies
- judgments
- repos
- foreclosure
- wage garnishments
- late payments
and other similar items.
Step Two: Write Your Letter
You need to write a dispute letter to the bureau in question to dispute any negative entries on your report. You’ll need to be able to state the reason for your credit report dispute as well as provide evidence of the items you’re challenging.
Mail your letter
